Willow Health Media is Kenya’s first independent, digital newsroom dedicated exclusively to health and science journalism. It is a non profit organisation where evidence meets storytelling, turning complex health issues into clear, compelling narratives.
Founded in 2024, Willow was born out of a belief that an informed public is essential to achieving health equity. Like its namesake the resilient willow tree, our work is rooted, healing, and far-reaching. 

The surgical team performed Africa’s first facial operation for free, but the custom titanium implants for Lucy Gathoni’s surgery were imported from Belgium and cost Ksh5 million.
